Seau a Lait Alpines: DOES BUCKS KIDS
Erie Shores: BOERS
I once thought that I was a horse lover and nothing else, as a child I dreamed only of horses, played only with horses and went through college just so I could have a good enough job to afford horses. Along with my first horse I purchased a goat, only because my parents had them when I was little. I was hoping to breed her and have milk for our house. Abby (a.k.a. Abby Normal, remember "Young Frankenstein"?) had a pretty bad case of CAE, so we never bred her and my disappointment was acute. We kept Abby until she died at 8 years old. That's when I swore off goats "Never Again!" I said, until I saw a TV program that had goats. The next day I went out and purchased two more. I couldn't stay away from them even if I tried. They have such endearing personalities and are so loving, curious and gentle.
I currently have several mature beautiful Alpine does. I started my herd with GCH Hoanbu lines, plus a dabble of Pearl Valley and Waiilapu, from this I am breeding for both milk production and show. 2003 was my first real show season and we didn't do too bad! Several 1st places, Grand Champions, Reserve Champions and a Best of Breed! 2004 proved to be a good year for my bucks! They have both have earned a BOB and Reserve Champion respectively. 2005 proved even better with both my dry yearlings earning a CH leg. 2006, What fun! I finished my first home bred Champion, Clairese as a two year old and she received her milk star too! Seau a Lait Lady Jane LA'd Excellent as a kid and earned her dry leg as well! All of my Alpines have been tested for CAE and TB and are negative - 8/03, and tested CAE negative again in 5/04, 12/04, 1/06, 1/07, 7/08!! This is the 5th consecutive year I've tested and all are still testing negative!
The current breeding plan is lised on on the FOR SALE page. I have some exciting breedings planned! I'll only be keeping a coulple of doe kids, so make a reservation now to get the doeling of your choice!!
